Norf Londun derby tommorow and I can’t wait.

The scummers from down the road are in decent form not being beaten in 9 but they haven’t been too convincing.
We on the other hand have won one in the last five and that was against travel weary Stoke. We haven’t registered a win against a*senal since agent George Graham was at the club and we’re at the opposite ends of the table.

Still I think this time we’re going to turn them over. Robbie is bak and he is bound to score. He loves to score against the south London interlopers notching in 5 of his 15 appearances against them Also we actually have a defensive midfielder with energy who can tackle in Palacios. Add to that we now have two good keepers and we can be confident.

Usually we take the lead in this fixture, play brilliantly for an hour then lose it late on.

Let’s hope history doesn’t repeat itself.

There has long been a myth in the league that Bolton are a*senal’s bogey team. Under Big Sam they used to stand in the way of the odd title challenge which made me like them. After all Bolton played in white and beat the arse, what was there not to like.

But looking at the stats the scummers aren’t the north London team with a Bolton whoo doo, we are. Of our last seven visits to the Reebok we’ve taken to points.

The weekend has to be different but I suspect it won’t.

Especially now goal king Defoe is injured. The boy with the blazing boots has got a foot injury. Get well soon son, we need you soon.

We. Must. Win. It’s as simple as that. If we lose we’re stranded right in it. So we can’t.

Stoke are rubbish on the road in fact they haven’t picked up a win on their travels. What was once fortress White Hart Lane is not such an intimidating place but we should have too much for them. The key is to get off to a good start. If things are going for us early on the crowd will be behind the team and the players can feed off the energy. If we get off to a shocker the crowd will get on the boys backs ad you can see the confidence draining out of them.

Most of our top boys will be back after the cup exit to united. Daws and Woody will be back and midget goal machine Jermaine Defoe will start.

We owe Stoke, when they beat us at the Brittania Stadium earlier in the season it was probably as low as we got. Let’s get some revenge boys.

There are few Premiership fixtures that offer as many reunions as this. Half the Pompey team have done a job for us at some point in their career including ourSol. Most of the Pompey backroom staff were brought in by Arry, who we nicked off the south coasters, and of course we just bought little Jermain back from them.

I can’t see there being a problem with the banter from the fans. We’ll never get over the betrayal and the Pompey fans will have something to say to Defoe and Redknapp but it’ll all be fairly good natured.

As for the game itself put your house on Jermain to re-open his Spurs account. Pompey are habitually rubbish at the Lane and a win would move us up 7 places. A loss is out of the question, if we are bottom after this weekend then it really is squeaky bum time.

Prediction I think it’ll be 2-1, we won’t keep a clean sheet but the 1 goal head start called Jermain Defoe should keep us just out of reach.

United at the weekend and for the first time in a long time I’m not scared. We used to be shit against the big boys but now we struggle against the so called lesser teams. I’m not sure what I prefer.

The red nosed raindeer is trying to get in our heads talking about taking Campbell back which we should ake as a compliment. He won’t talk about you unless he sees you as a threat. We need big games froour big players. Modric lookslike he’s getting close to the bloke we saw in Euro qualifying and it’s time for Bentley to deliver for longer than the time it takes to embarrass the arse from half way. Hopefully today’s the day.

Check out the vid below, it’s a Hoddle round up but the goal on 33 secs is the peach of a volley he scored against united many moons ago. Bentley if you’re reading, watch and learn.

‘Arry’s back at the Boleyn Ground this weekend ad he can expect a decent reception, sort of. Later in the season this game could be significant so we need a result.

Hopefuly it will be like the game a couple of years ago which has to be one of the most entertaining in Prem history. Here’s a reminder of how we broke their hearts.

Watford in the QFs next and we’ve got a really good chance of doing well in this cup. Again. The arse and united are still in it but we can’t be scared of them considering that we overcame the north London interlopers and the new money from Fulham en route to the winning the booze cup last year.

Watford shouldn’t be underestimated but anything other than a win would be a travesty.

Hopefully these two Watford ball boys won’t be playing. They look mustard.

Carling Cup quarter final time. It’s about when the Prem clubs who are still involved start taking it more seriously. But as holders we’ve always tried in this competition.

The Watford draw was seen as a good one at this stage but it can never be said that we’ve taken the easy route having dispatched Newcastle and Liverpool on the way.

There’s no easy games etc.. but we should navigate this round. It’s a good chance for Gomes to continue building up his confidence. Who knows he could even pull off one of these.

The toffee men come to The Lane at the weekend and look to provide the biggest threat to Arry’s 100% home record since the others scousers came down to N17. We’ve got a fairly poor record against Everton in recent years, they’ve beaten us at home the last two seasons, but I’m confident going into this game.

The thing that provides a bit of concern is that Harry’s Spurs have been getting results even when we play badly and our luck is likely to run out at some point. Hopefully it won’t be in this game. Despite our brilliant start we’re still close to the relegation dog fight. Team wise Deadley Ledley is going to play and Everton’s injury problems have them with only one fit striker, with all this in mind I think we’ll keep a clean sheet and as long as we can score three points should be ours.

Back in the UEFA Cup and Harry has picked a young side to go to Nijmegen and do the biz.

Chris Gunter has been tipped to start, while children John Bostock, Adam Smith, Yaser Kasim, John Obika and Ryan Mason have all travelled to Holland. We’re likely to be without Deadly Ledley but if the showing against Liverpool in the league cu is anything to go byy no matter what team we put out they should be good enough to get a result.

To be totally honest I know little about the Dutch outfit but as long as they don’t have two burley centre forwards and decent delivery from out wide they shouldn’t cause us too many problems. Hopefully it will be a calamity free day for Gomes and he can continue his rehabilitation.

Let’s hope he does nothing to get a cackle out of Kammy.

The draw for the quarter finals of the League Cup were made last week and it completely slipped under my radar. We’re playing Watford.

The good news is we don’t have to play a Premier League team. The bad news is we’re away from home. But despite generally being smelly hairy bollocks away from home a trip to vicarage Road should be something our squad can negotiate.

I’m not getting ahead of myself but if we can get passed the Hornets we’ll undoubtably meet a*snal youth in the semi finals. The Woolwich boys have turned a few heads in this competition so far and despite Burnley’s heroics against Chelsea you wouldn’t bet on Arsne’s ankle biters making it into the last four. Providing we get through we’ll be ready for them, hopefully we can put six past them this time.
Here is the draw in full.
Carling Cup quarter-finals draw:
Stoke City v Derby County
Manchester United v Blackburn Rovers
Burnley v Arsenal
Watford v Tottenham Hotspur

And anyone looking for an omen check out what’s perhaps my favourite Hoddle goal against Watford many moons ago when men played football in hotpants.

Arse tonight. For some reason you can’t help but feel that the amount of new players we’ve got could work in our favour. ‘Arry will let them all know how important the fixture is and if they have half a brain the latest arrivals will realise that a good performance against the south Londoners equals instant hero status.

Personally I gave Rebrov another 6 months of love after he scored against the gooners. If Pav, Bentley or Modric can notch tonight they will be legends. If their contribution results in our first win at their place since 1993 the year Sky invented football they’ll have a statue built for them.

It would be great if we could stick the derogatory quotes coming out of their camp right up their arsne.

COYS.

Eh? Huh? WTF? How long have I been asleep? Like many spurs fans I woke up this morning rubbing my eyes unable to believe my ears. We’ve sacked off the continental structure at our club, given Gus, Oneday and Comoli the boot and got ‘Arry Redknapp in as our manager. It’s been a long night.

So what next? Seeing how results have gone at the bottom of the league a win and all of a sudden our position won’t look so bad. We’d still be bottom but only a few points from mid table. The famed new manager syndrome should account for some points we wouldn’t expect in the next three or four games, hopefully starting today.

With the wheeler dealer on board the transfer window should be interesting. I for one can’t wait. Come on you spurs.

A lot has changed since the draw for the 3rd Round was made. Here's an idiot who loves to get it wrong.

Tomorrow’s visit of Wisla Krakow is huge. We’re only four fixtures in and already we’re talking about massive games. The good news is Wisla lost their last game 4-1 at home to an unfancied side. The bad news is we’ve lost all of our home games this season.

Our woeful start in the league has made a decent UEFA Cup run essential so an early hiccup is unthinkable. Quite simply we have to win. Expect us to field our strongest team which will hopefully include Ledley King.

The Poles haven’t got a great deal of European pedigree despite a win against Barcelona in the Champions League this season.

This is how they did it.

Let’s hope they don’t turn us over.

COYS

Villa visit the lane tonight as we try and lift ourselves off the bottom of the league. The corresponding fixture last season was classic Spurs. Go 4 – 1 down at home, get back to 4 all and celebrate it like we won the league. On our birthday.

Lightening shouldn’t strike twice but I can easily see this happening again. Villa are an exciting outfit and we are still bedding new players. Corluka and Pavlov’s dog are expected to make their debuts and if Deadly Ledley plays he’ll make his 200th appearance for the Mighty Spurs.

We haven’t notched a W for 10 league games, which is frankly poor. We have been woeful of late so it’s time to step it up.

COYS

It was mad though.

The last time we beat Chelsea at their place was in February 1990 when a chap called Gary Lineker got the winner. That was in the old first division. Disturbingly if an elated Spurs fan drunk on the giddy high of victory gave their missus one on tube on the way home from a crumbling Stamford Bridge that day their off spring would now be old enough to vote, join the army and drown their sorrows after our woeful start to the season.

We go into Sunday’s game with no points, one goal and without our best player. Add to that Chelsea hasn’t lost a home league game to anyone in over four years and our chances look bleak.

With all this in mind I think we’ll play well enough to win and get a point. I’ve got nothing to go on but blind optimism. But look at what a little hope can do...

Our defence of the Carling Cup starts against Newcastle away. Outside of playing last years top four we couldn’t have had a harder fixture. They’re not quite our bogey team yet but we’ve lost our last five to the Toon who look rejuvenated this season under king Kev. The booze cup will be a realistic target for the Geordies so we can expect them to put out a strong team.

But if you’re going to win things you have to beat whoever is put in front of you. We saw off four Premiership teams en route to winning the cup last season including a*senal and Chelsea, why can’t we do it again? It just feels a bit early to be playing the magpies especially with our poor early season form. But we’ve got three weeks to build up a head of steam and crucially by then all the unsettling transfer speculation surrounding the club will be well and truly put to bed.

I’ll save the predictions until closer to the time. In the meantime have another look at this.

Big game this weekend.  Only the most reactionary would call the second game of the season ‘must win’. But…

One thing we used to get right was making White Hart Lane a fortress. From 2005 to the begging of the year we played 50 games at WHL losing only nine. Now is the time to make teams scared of playing at The Lane again.

The good news is Jamie O’Hara has recovered from a neck injury and the Hudd has been back in training since his U21s exploits. Unfortunately Hutton is still out with a poorly foot. This Hotspur hopes to see Gunter on the right but who knows. There is no guarantee Berba will start despite his brace during international week. It will be interesting to see what sort of reception the glum Bulgarian will get from the home fans.

Spurs old boy Teemu Tanio is injured again so won’t be available to face his former employers. This time it’s a muscle strain but we always knew he couldn’t play more than once a month. The black cats new boys Cisse and Healy may play some part.

Ledders looks like he may be involved but if he’s anything but 100% I can’t see the point. Ramos describes Deadly as, “a Rolls-Royce in the garage. Ledley is the type of player who would walk into any side”. Probably best to leave him valet parked until the Chelsea game then.

Prediction: We’ll win but won’t keep a clean sheet, call it 3-1.

North London natives since 1882, 1919 still not forgiven, Bill Nicholson – best ever, push and run, Greavsie, Gilzean, year ends in one. First British team to lift European trophy, first double winners. Hoddle, Waddle, Chas and Dave, cups, Ossie’s dream, “Is Gasgoine gonna have a crack? He is you know.” Klinsman’s dive, entertainers, decline, love a moan, false dawns, now’s our time, maybe next year, sell best players or walk for free. The Tottenham way.
