Afonso Alves has begun to show Boro fans why the club paid so much money for him. He had a poor start to the season only grabbing three goals before the new year, but now the Brazilian has scored seven in total for the season, scoring three in the cup and one in the league this month.
I know it is early days yet, but Alves has scored in both F.A. Cup ties so far and if we get a decent tie in the fifth round, who knows, anything is possible.
