Burnley boss Owen Coyle is hoping to tie up a deal for Middlesbrough
right-back Tony McMahon before Saturday's promotion crunch clash with
Preston. Coyle has been trying to land homegrown McMahon for
weeks and wants to finalise a price with Boro today for the defender,
who is out of contract in the summer.
This could be the fuel for the Chris Eagles transfer. A possible swap deal plus cash will be on the cards if Southgate wants to let McMahon leave the Riverside. The question is: Do we have enough cover at right back? The answer is yes. We have Justin Hoyte, Matthew Bates and David Wheater.
This might be the first bit of action at Middlesbrough during the transfer window.
