"The January transfer window is feeding time for the sharks," Gibson said today.
"But we will fight to keep this squad together because we know we have a lot of
quality here."
"I believe that Stewart Downing and in fact all of our players should stay and
fight to turn this club around."
"There is a enough talent here to lift the club back up the table and we want
to give it every chance to shine through"
"The players owe it to the club and to the fans and they owe it to the manager."
Steve Gibson is trying his best to settle the players at the Riverside following Stewart Downing's transfer request yesterday. Gibbo has belief in his squad that they can turn things around and climb up the table. I also believe they can turn things around. Downing obviously has his sights set on a move now so I think we should let him go and get on with strengthening the team with the money we get for him.
Gibson is no mug, he is playing hard to get so that Spurs pay ridiculous money for Downing. Well done Gibbo.
Come On Boro!!
