Well, what a game of football. It was certainly an old-fashioned type of cup tie at the Riverside on Saturday. Barrow put in the challenges and Boro brought the class to the table.
Afonso Alves produced a couple of inspired moments of magic to cripple the non-league battlers. Alves now has the scoring touch back after his cup double.
Barrow were no mugs though on Saturday, they managed to threaten the Boro goal on a couple of occasions and in the second half they got their reward for all the work they put in on the field. It was just what the Barrow fans deserved for their constant singing at one end of the ground.
Adam Johnson was my Boro man of the match and Martin, in the Barrow goal, was the opposition man of the match for his string of world class saves.
Come On Boro!!
