The Mirror
Burnley boss Owen Coyle is ready to snap up Middlesbrough right-back Tony McMahon in a bargain deal. McMahon is in and out of Gareth Southgate's squad and can leave Boro on
a free transfer at the end of the season - with the Clarets keen on
recruiting him now.
Not sure about this one. McMahon is a product of the youth academy and Boro will be reluctant to letting one of the graduates leaving without a reasonable fee being offered. McMahon has been in excellent form since he returned from a series of injuries.
His loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday was very successful and his last couple of games with Boro have seen him perform very well. Southgate does have options at right back though and may be willing to sell for the sake of Tony McMahon's footballing career.
