Middlesbrough FC

Saturday January 3rd. F.A. Cup Third Round sponsored by Ian Beale.

Gaffer Gate is expected to throw some fringe players in the mix tomorrow against Barrow. Ross Turnbull will have a well earned rest after performing heroics in later parts of 2008. Bradley Jones will start in goal for the first time since the Spurs game back in August.

Marvin Emnes is also tipped for a starting role against Barrow. I think this is a good move by Southgate. The Dutchman has bags of pace and some tricks to show. Mido and AJ will not be involved as they are both recovering from slight knocks.

Nobody is sure whether Alves will be given the chance to grab some goals for his confidence. The Brazilian will surely run riot if he's given the chance. Downing will be our main threat as he tries to get Boro back on track in 2009.

Come On Boro!!
