Apparently fans can't even make the pub now...

Remember when we used to bemoan the fact that football fans were being priced out of going to their local football match, and were going to the pub to watch games instead? Those were the days indeed it seems, as a new survey from BT Vision has revealed that even the pubs are being ditched by skint punters in favour of sitting at home and watching it there. A whopping 34% of lazy sods, sorry, cash-conscious fans intend to spend less time watching the game at the pub this season than they did three years ago.

Worst hit will be pubs in Blackburn (65% of fans intend to watch at home), Manchester (63%) and Birmingham (61%), though this survey was done before Sam Allardyce's appointment as new Rovers boss so we've no doubt that more Blackburn fans will now flock to watch their new brand of exciting football...
