The "P" word can be mentioned....

After last week's 2-1 win, last night we came out narrow 4-3 victors. There's something about proper football scores like those that make it all the more satisfying. None of this 12-1 lark (honest...). And satisfied we certainly are after our latest victory guaranteed us promotion to Division One. Hurrah and all that. Though we can't quite help but feel that we've won a ticket to getting spanked every week...

Nonetheless we've the small matter of the league title to secure next week, needing only a point to confirm our place at the top of the tree. So imagine our surprise when all the lazy bastards in the office yet to manage an appearance for us suddenly popped and put their names forward...

Solo goals...

It's a brand new year, so what better way to celebrate than by reminiscing over some of the best solo efforts ever scored on a football pitch. OK so you could argue that reading a good book or drinking yourself into oblivion would be better, but hey, at least we're giving you the option. And no, worry not, we haven't put Maradona's goal against England in. If only to save us the wrath of Peter Reid...

Forget that moped-loving goon on Channel 4, Harry Redknapp is the new man on the scene when it comes to nutritional expertise. To celebrate the return of this year's FA Cup, sponsors E.ON got 'Arry to come up with a "Matchday Menu", we kid you not. Apparently it's "designed to help families who are travelling to matches this weekend stay warm and full of energy...without breaking the bank."
