Ronnie also had some money on the 3.15 at Newbury...

Sod the horses, Ronaldo's going to win us some cash...

We've got to say we are now definitely not among those people who think snow is cool. It's not. It's cold, it's wet, it shows up half the nation for the work-shy fops that they are, and above all, it spoils things. Firstly the midweek football, then the transfer window and now the weekend's racing at Newbury, which we were very much looking forward to attending. Snow, you are truly an enemy of Catflap. Even if you've indirectly saved us from losing a lot of money at the weekend. So we turn to the football to try and win us some cash, with the weekend's best bets...

Weekend's Best Bets

Isn't it beautiful? It's Doncaster...

Fiery derbies are the order of the day...

There are a few blinding ties to be played out in tonight's FA Cup replays, with another Merseyside derby making the Glasgow derby seem infrequent, another East Midlands derby with Nigel Clough having another go at beating his Dad's old team Nottingham Forest with his Dad's old team, Derby. Then there's Doncaster's well earned replay at Villa, and without doubt the dullest encounter of the round, Blackburn v Sunderland, following their less-than-enthralling 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light. Here then, are our evening's best bets...

Manchester City travel to Stoke’s Britannia Stadium, in the early kick-off on Saturday, to begin the weekend and an all-London battle sees Arsenal host Gianfranco Zola’s improving Hammers. The Reebok is the venue for Bolton against Spurs, as Fulham are at home to Portsmouth and a struggling Hull entertain lowly West Brom. Aston Villa look to continue their good run as new signing Emile Heskey’s second appearance comes against former club Wigan. It is 17th versus 18th on Teesside with Middlesbrough hosting Blackburn. Old Trafford is setting for the evening match as Manchester United’s game against Everton has been moved forward two days because of the Toffees’ midweek FA Cup replay.

Sunday offers what should be two appetising encounters. The Tyne-Wear derby promises to be a heated affair, as Newcastle seek revenge over their fierce rivals for an early season defeat. However, the game of the weekend is at Anfield, as a stalling Liverpool side look to regain some momentum in their title chase when they host second place Chelsea.

Carlos was genuinely excited about his move to Spurs...

Midweek football means only one thing. A bet frenzy...

Premier League midweek fixtures are back this evening, with four matches to be played. Tony Adams’ free-falling Portsmouth host fourth place Aston Villa, as the Villains look to climb the table. With the ink still drying on Kenwyne Jones’ new contract, Ricky Sbragia’s side entertain Fulham, who must adapt to life without Jimmy Bullard.

A vital three points are on offer at White Hart Lane, as Stoke travel to Spurs seeking to do the double over them. At the Hawthorns, there is a match-up of conflicting fortunes, as bottom club West Brom entertain league leaders Manchester United. There are also full schedules throughout the rest of the Football League. Let's see if we can win you some money from them...

We're tipping Barca, Wolves, Leicester, Wycombe and, er, San Jose...

Usually when we get betting tips from our mates and colleagues we tend to tell them where to go. Mainly because they're about as knowledgeable as Will Mellor, and also because half the time they're only tipping us to see how stupid and naive we really are. But this one was different. This bet involves putting money on three teams who already lead their respective league tables, as well as a Barca side on a hot streak, added to a random NHL bet. But the Sharks are pretty handy, and are joint favourites. We're told...

Still £10 nets us an awesome £969.94. Which is pretty much the equivalent of winning the lottery. If you had four numbers and a lot of people won so winnings came to £969.94...
