What do footballers do when they're injured? Well, if they can walk, they play golf. If they can't, they buy stuff. And stuff includes cars. Expensive ones. So when he's not been spending his time getting the most ridiculous tan since Dale Winton under a UV light, he's been buying more cars. This new Bentley Continental GT Speed he bought this week for a mere £140k meant that his overall spending on cars since joining Man United soared past the £2m mark.

The Bentley will join his Rolls Royce Phantom, two Porsche Cayennes, a Porsche 911, a Ferrari F430 and a BMW M6 in a pretty overcrowded garage. Then of course there is the small matter of a £875k Bugatti Veyron he's got to wait two years for. By which time he'll no doubt have another couple of cars, a yacht, a boat, a hovercraft, a plane and an island...
